Yes, you read right, electronic cigarettes are now being openly classified as drugs by the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

NIH calls electronic cigarettes drugs

We could rant and rave, we could point to unbiased and favorable e-cigarette studies, we could even pout and say we are not playing anymore...but what good will it do? We, and many others like us, have been trying to educate and inform the public about the benefits and potential hazards of ecigarettes for years (yes, we do realize ecigs should be regulated to a certain extent; at the end of the day, this is our industry and we want a safe playing field). Try as all of us might, it seems our efforts are in vain. The behind-the-scenes manipulators are hell bent on demonizing electronic cigarettes and are, unfortunately, succeeding.

We don't know about you, but from where we stand, it looks like the Prohibition all over again. We foresee black market vaping ops just like moonshiners back in the 1920s after alcohol was made illegal. We even have a name for it - vapeshiners!

Going back to the core of the matter - what good will it do? Well, the one thing you and everyone else could do is vote for pro-vape candidates wherever and whenever you can. That will definitely help, otherwise, all of us are going to be criminalized, marginalized and sodomized by crooked politicians and the fat cats at Big Tobacco & Pharma.
